my moms been home for a while now and she ether had the weather channel or lifetime on. is it just me or do you girls like watching depressing things.

though I'm not one to speak I read a lot of shojo novels and I have in the past enjoyed a chick flick or two. though it seems if you'd watch the life time channel for three days you'd eventually just lay in bed. eating what evers close and in a fit of depression. not want to watch it anymore.

I've only watched bits and peaces but dang is that channel depressing. the news is not that depressing. you could shot a family member or loved one and you showing up at there funeral wouldn't be that depressing.

my other question is do you girls like watching mysteries, romance stories and movies ported from books. because thats all that plays on that channel.

oh well.
just curious.

Those women's channels serve to warn young girls what to look for and run from. For older ladies, it lulls us to sleep!! @8-)
All men should hate those movies so you're right on cue. They are so hard on the guys!!

I can't stand Lifetime. It's all battered women, dying kids, and disease of the week.

Personally I'm a junkie for cop shows (L&O, NYPD Blue, CSI, Bones, even Crossing Jordan.) And I miss shows like Third Wave, Dark Angel, Buffy, Angel, you know, cool stuff (Smallville doesn't count. I don't like Smallvile one bit). Give me something with shootouts, explosions, and conspiracies.

I do like mysteries. I don't like romance stories. And I would rather read the book.

(Of course I've never willingly seen any Julia Roberts movie so I know I'm biased away from 'chick flicks' and the like. Give my a Die Hard clone any day of the week before 'While you were sleeping')

The Lifetime Channel airs movies with specific women-related issues in mind, so it's no surprise that women watch it. Some of it is depressing, some of it isn't. However, if your mom is just lying around staring at the TV, she could be depressed and needs some help...

I enjoy watching lifetime, because it's usually about actual events that have happened. Good & bad, to teens, adults, the disable, the racism, what goes on in schools, etc..not much on love stories though.
Things people don't like to talk about because they are ashamed or embarrassed to talk about. I have learned a lot also. I am a Mom and hormones are really to emotional for me but I guess with our motherly instincts we just Care about Everything, our problems or not. Just my womanly option, hope it helps

There are probably some of both gender that prefer that genre of entertainment. Not me personally I prefer a more eclectic mix of suspence, history, action, theatre, political commentation, etc. If I feel like a good cry, I just have to watch the six o'clock news.

Women are facinated with emotional shows like soaps. Because, they can relate to them. Just like men liking a hunting channel or sports, because they can relate. Women have a shallow emotional surface. & thank God for that because they are sensitive and loving. Men are more deeper and harder to get past the surface of sensitivity. That is why us men need women in our lives to keep us in touch with the things that truly matter in this life. Thank the Lord for the Women in your life. I sure do
