i have the same situation, and its pretty distressing when you hear ladies say they havent gained any weight or when books say you should only gain 3-4 pounds in your first trimester, i gained 3-4 pounds just in my chest it seems! i know my appetite has increased significantly, in my first 3 months i gained 10 pounds also, but then i didnt gain any this last month (i am 16 weeks pregnant now), it seems my body is balancing out and now that i am a little less nauseous i am able to be a little more active. Depending on your weight before your pregnancy you should gain 25-35 pounds total (more if you were underweight, less if you were really overweight) so if you stay within that range you will be fine. I gained 40 pounds with my son (2 years old) and the doctors always said my weight was fine. Remember, you can't do anything about the weight you have gained so far , it is unhealthy to try to lose weight when you are pregnant but you can make sure to eat healthy and stay as active as possible to keep weight gain gradual for the rest of your pregnancy (it can also help minimize stretch marks and discomfort). a good sight i have found is babyfit.com, it gives lots of good tips, recipes, exercise ideas and lets you know based on your body type where you should be weight wise.
congratulations

Dont worry and dont listen to what all the websites say (which is like 5lbs). I have been pregnant twice. I didnt get morning sickness...I always got really tired and really hungry. I would gain about 8-10 lbs by 4 mo preg. My first pregnancy I gained a total of 25 lbs and lost 40 by my 6 wk ckup, and I am currently 9 mo preg and have gained 15 (the first 8 came by 4 mo).
It also depends on your weight prior to pregnancy. They say rule of thumb is if you are overweight you should try to keep your weight gain lower and if you are low or under weight it should be higher. You DONT want to diet though while pregnant. Your body fat has toxins in it...and if your body starts using the fat stores to feed you and the baby with your needed calories, it could expose the baby to harmful stuff.
I would list all the many pregnacy websites, but really ask your OB at your next visit how he/she feels about your weight gain.

It just depends on your body and your habits. I gained steadily a couple pounds here and there with my first and a total of 35lbs. With this second, I gained nothing the first trimester and then at my 4 month visit, I packed on 7 lbs, and then the next month was another 6 lbs. So far I've got 6wks to go and I've gained a total of 27lbs. Try to make sure what you are eating is healthy, and start or increase your walking routine to burn off any "extras".

Did you have a healthy weight or were under or overweight before pregnancy, see below:
¨Healthy Weight Before Pregnancy:
3-5 pounds during the first trimester
Approximately 1-2 pounds per week in the second trimester
Approximately 1-2 pounds per week in the third trimester
Underweight Before Pregnancy:
5-6 pounds or more in your first trimester; this also can depend on how underweight you were before pregnancy & your health care provider's recommendations
1-2 pounds per week in the second and third trimesters
Overweight Before Pregnancy:
Approximately 1-2 pounds in the first trimester
Approximately 1 pound per week during the last six months¨

I had lost 10lbs in my first 3 months so you are doing fine. The majority of the weight gain will happen in your third trimester.

Not the first time I've heard this... as your body retains water you'll see your weight go up drastically at the begining. Eat well balanced meals, take your prenatals and drink plenty of water. If you're doing this already then don't fret you're body knows what it needs to do to care for that baby.
