Does it really matter? It is only 3 days shorter than some others. Perhaps they should make March National Irish Month. Maybe they could of put Black History month in the summer. That way i wouldnt of had to hear about it in school.

I am glad there is a month devoted to black history because it is extremely important the the US its past, present and future.

What will happen in the next 20-30 years when Caucasions are the minority in the US. Will they start to complain? Will there be a white history month.

But Come on, complaing that it is the shortest month.

Gimme a break.

My guess would be since February is when Lincoln's birthday is, they chose that month. It's fitting since Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation.

judging by the answers, i see some of my ill-mannered relatives have shared their "wisdom", lol. i think they underestimated the amount of contributions that should be honored by us and the contributions continue to grow.
