Family guy is just a series of callbacks to 80's shows and music, and frankly, is not that funny.
20 years from now, the simpsons will still be in syndication....family guy, not so much.

Family Guy is funnier in my opinion but The Simpsons is definitely a classic by far....

Family Guy is more "cartoon Slapstick".
The Simpsons stick more to the "cartoon Plot"
I love The Simpsons.

i think the Family guy makes me laugh more and louder than the Simpsons BUT its the Simpsons, we've been watching it for like 18 years so ya its more popular

Family Guy is really getting better, plus even if you watch the reruns on TBS, which bought the rights for American Dad in Nov of '08 and besides The Simpsons deserves a cancellation.
