What happened was he had a heart aneurysm while on set and died right away. They killed his character off the same way, he had a heart attack and died.

On September 11, 2003, Ritter became ill during rehearsals for 8 Simple Rules, which was starting its second season. He was taken across the street from the studio to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, where he died hours later at the age of 54. John Ritter died just days before his 55th birthday, in the same hospital in which he was born. The date of his death was the same as his daughter Stella's fifth birthday, the day before wife Yasbeck's fortieth birthday, and six days before their wedding anniversary. He died from an aortic dissection caused by a previously undiagnosed congenital heart defect. Ritter was interred at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles.

8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter was retitled 8 Simple Rules after Ritter's death and continued for two more seasons. The first three episodes of Season 2 had featured Ritter, so they were rewritten. The season dealt with the family trying to move on after their patriarch's death. New male characters, played by James Garner and David Spade, were added to fill the gap.

John Ritter on Scrubs.Ritter's last films, Bad Santa and Clifford's Really Big Movie, were dedicated in his memory as was the sixth episode of Season 4 of Scrubs, "My Cake". The latter is particularly poignant as Ritter previously played the role of the protagonist John Dorian's father, and the episode revolves around Dorian's father's sudden death

The character had a heart attack at the supermarket while getting milk.

It wasn't a good idea trying to keep the show going, David Spade and James Gardner wasn't enough to keep it going. John Ritter could never be replaced.

My sister behaviour was very similar to this she would have mood changes with in seconds i found it very hard to be around her because she was very difficult. She tryed to kill herself countless times and refused to get any help this went on for years and last year she has a break down she was in a unit for 3 months and she was told she was bipolar. She was put on medication the problem with mental health is we no there something wrong but it is so hard to try get help for your loved one there not really any support for family members. I no how much it hurts but i would say to maybe ask your daughter to talk to the doctor or maybe if she talks about trying to kill herself try get the Police to section her on the mental health act this is a long process, but try not give up even though there gonna be lots of days you will feel like it but she your daughter and she need help good luck hope your daughter get the help she needs.
