I am a hairdresser and I am not a big advocate in long, artificial nails being applied...I prefer well groomed natural nails. Healthy nails and hair come from within a healthy body. Unfortunately, you are damaging your nails by biting them...so this is one time I do recommend an artificial application. Go to a good manicurist and ask him/her to overlay your own nails, either with a silk wrap or an acrylic overlay. (no tips) This will make your natural nails stronger so that it will not be so easy to chew on them and it will also allow your nail to grow out. Also you will be far less apt to chew on your nails if you've had to pay good money to have them done. You might also choose to have some white tips sprayed on with a transparent pearl pink polish overall. This gives a nice soft french manicure look. I hope this helped....good luck.

1.Remove dirt from underneath your nails. If you have dirt underneath your nails it makes them unhealthy. Therefore, when you remove the dirt they will be healthy. When your nails are healthy they grow faster. If you don't have a special tool for removing the dirt from underneath your nails just use something pointy that won't hurt you or use an old nail file that you do not use any more.
2. Soak your fingernails in a bowl of bottled water with a teaspoon of salt in it for 5-10 minutes every day. I don't know how but this makes your nails grow much faster than they usually do.
3. Get a cuticle oil, a cuticle cream or a nail cream. Massage it into you nails and it makes them cleaner and healthier, and as I said before healthy nails grow faster. If you can't find a cuticle oil, a cuticle cream or a nail cream you can just use an ordinary hand cream. They work just as well.
4. Get a nail hardener or strengthener. This is a clear nail polish which you can wear alone or on top of another polish. This makes your nails strong and healthy and the won't break, peel or bend and it will keep your length. And as I said two times before healthy nails grow faster.
5.Get a calcium nail builder. This is exactly the same as the hardeners and strengtheners but this gives you nails calcium witch is very good for helping them to grow. It also makes them look fresh and shiny. It's very good if you don't eat a lot of calcium because you can just apply it straight to your nails.
6. Never clip you nails always file them. The reason for this is because when you clip your nails it pushes down on the nails and it squeezes them. This stresses out the nails and causes them to become weak and they will peel and break. If your nails ever need shaping use a file.
Ways To Stop Biting Your Nails:
7. Buy a bottle of stop and grow. It tastes really bad and when you go to bite them it will taste horrible and it is supposed to make you not bite them any more.
8. Soak your nails in olive oil to moisturize, strengthen and prevent growth.
Thanks for reading! Hope I helped!

I stopped biting my nails at age 35 and now have beautiful long, strong nails. In order to stop, I started using clear nail polish on them and manicuring my nails twice a week. As soon as they started to grow I started using a nail file to shape them. My nails are now quite long and I have to file them every week to stop them getting too long. I use a glass nail file as my nails are too strong and thick for an emery board. I oil them every night before bed with a drop of coconut oil. I've bought mysel a high-gloss nail buffer and give them a good buff with the rough side once a week and polish them with the smooth side every day. These high gloss buffers (available in Asda and Superdrug) make your nails shine like glass and there's no need to use nail polish which is healthier for your nails as nail polish stops oxygen getting to them. I no longer do the full manicure twice a week as I don't have time and that was just a way to focus on stopping the biting anyway.

I used to bite my nails a lot and my cuticles looked awful. Here's how I saved my nails:
Start with a triple antibiotic ointment and apply to cuticles. It will make them soft and smooth.
Take a vitamin for hair, skin, and nails.
Give yourself or get regular manicures to keep your nails pretty.
Do not let them get too long. They will break and peel.
Hope that this helped you out.

Rub a perfumed cuticle oil on them.....................that keeps your cuticles soft and also tastes as vile as stop and grow.
just manicure them on a regular basis.............you are less likely to bite if they don't look raggy!!!
