Seems like those are external and can't be tracked and that only internal email and such can only be checked..... but what do i know?

Of course.

The network administrator at your company can see, track, trace and record every single keystroke you type, and everything you access from a PC on the company's network..... this isn't rocket science either ... it's very easy.

Do they normally record communications done via third party software (like Yahoo) ... usually not, however, the law gives them the right to should they deem it necessary.... it is after all "their" computer & their timeclock you are on.

If you're using THEIR computer, of course they can!

Always assume that your employer has a key tracking application on your computer specifically, and an internet tracking application watching their server. Anything that goes thru their server is tracked, you can be certain of it, and that definitely includes email of all types!

It is possible, anything you do at work on the computer can be tracked. They do have the power to do that and you agree to that every time you log on.

If you're sending mail/IM from your workplace, then yes, they can be tracked. This is common practice - big brother is watching! They are watching because you shouldn't be sending private mail/IM while at work - it's not what you're paid to do.

Yes they can. Everything done on a computer is recorded on the hard drive. So using your company property they can scan it.
