I had my first Dr appt yesterday and going by my last period I am only 9 weeks.(This is my second pregnancy, last one was 5 years ago) ALL of my pants are tight and I gained about 10 pounds already! Could I be further along than I think or can I be pregnant with twins? (It's my generations turn to have twins as well as the fathers.) My last period was November 27th and it was 2 weeks late and irregular. Any thoughts?

If it's your second pregnancy you'll show faster, regardless of how long ago it was. I started to show this time around at 12 weeks, although I was bloated before, probibly about the same time 9 weeks... good news is you'll feel the baby move sooner too :) I felt mine this time around at 14 weeks. My first born is also 5 years old. Best of luck to you and congratulations on the new addition :)

Second pregnancies show quicker. I'm 11 weeks and have a belly already. Freaked me out! Ha ha. As for the twins, you really wouldn't have gained 10 pounds already even with twins. Could be water retention?? Your doc will be able to tell ya for sure.

The father cannot influence your chances of having twins. Twins also do not skip generations. If there are FRATERNAL twins on your side of the family, it may increase your odds of having twins. Identicals are pure luck. Best of luck to you!!

Ten pounds sounds a bit much. For second timers and depending on your body its not unusual to have tight clothes already. Id watch the weight gain though. Congrats and good luck!

Its always a possibility, but- alot of people are known to show quicker with their second pregnancy~!
Good luck! if you are preg with twins, your dr will usually figure it out pretty quickly by the size of your uterus!

You show quicker with a first pregnancy

The father of your child doesnt determine if you will have fraternal twins. Only your side would. Identical Twins are a fluke and happen by chance

Every woman and every pregnancy is different. So every time and with every person growth will be different too. Make sure you don't eat to salty it makes you hold onto fluid and makes you add the pounds too. Congrats and stay healthy.
