I am telling the honest truth when I say that I would NOT keep it. The only reason that I wouldn't, is because I would feel so guilty that I really believe my conscience would invoke nothing but bad luck on me and mine. I would take it to the nearest Police Station, leave my name and address, and be seriously p****d off if I didn't receive a reward! But no, you definitely SHOULDN'T keep it! (Also, what the heck would £100,000 in cash be doing sitting in a case in a public place?! It was probably ill-gotten gains anyway and tainted money - no thanks). If it was illegal money, it's unlikely that anybody would report it missing or make a claim, so the Police may try to give it back to the finder. The next question, therefore, would be: If they tried to give it back to you, would you WANT to keep it? - You never know who might come looking for you!

I would certainly hang on to it for a while and see who had lost it. If its somone who couldn't afford to lose it - little old pensioner type of person, then I would hand it back. If it belonged to a bank or an institution like that I wouldn't be so sympathetic. I have a friend who left £5000 in a phone box and he never got it back

I would hand it in to the police but ensure that I got a receipt and that they recorded that I did require a reward. I think the law says you're entitled to 10%. £10,000 (tax free?) would be fine by me and legal so I wouldn't need to worry about being arrested for theft if the notes were traced.

And if nobody claimed the money then it would all legally be mine. In this case I would consider being benevolent with a portion.

It would renew my faith in the man above, I would keep it, cos it bad manners to give away a gift....
My cousin found a briefcase jammed packed with notes lying in the middle of the road, it belonged to the local bookmaker, it had fell out of his car...he returned it... without a word of thanks.
I really cant understand why he did that.

Honestly? No I wouldn't. I'd take it to the nearest police station. It's stealing and I need to sleep at night and feel good about myself more than I need £100,000

I would hand it in. It's probably ill-gotten (what non-criminal would be carry 100 grand around with them) and would want to get mixed up with any drug dealing or armed robbery investigations. Would be nice if nobody claimed it though!

If there was nothing to identify who it belonged to in the case. Then yes, if you handed it in, how would THEY find out who it belonged to, THEY would probably use it themselves. They could not say it had been found, as all the knobs would be ringing in saying it was theirs.

♥ I don't tihnk you "should" keep it.

♥ I very possibly "would" keep it though.

♥ I'd have a thought at the back of my mind though, that someone had possibly marked it or set me up.

♥ I might give it to the police.... nah, forget that. i'd keep it!
