I get excrutiating pains in my abdomen from Round Ligament pains about 3xs a day. It hurts so much that I start sweating, crying, and have almost thrown up 2xs. I'm just starting my 5th week. Has anyone encountered anything similar?

I had the same thing happen to me during my last pregnancy, its normal to have pain like that from the uterus stretching to make room for the baby.. it starts early in pregnancy..but just to be safe, talk to your doctor at your next visit..especially if it happens alot :)..

OH yea, I was out running errands with my son, I don't drive so we took the bus, and I got stranded in front of a store... it hurt so bad I had to call an ambulance. The pain was very simular ot what we were told to watch for as a sign of placenta abruption. After a billion tests and an ultrasound the hospital said it was round ligament pains and gave me tylenol and sent me home to put my feet up. Doc said to keep drinking lots of water it'll help the pain. I haven't been able to move a whole lot this pregnancy because of the pain... that and horrid pelvic pain that I hear goes hand in hand with weak round ligaments.

5 weeks is much too early to be feeling round ligament pains. I would go talk to your dr because there could be something else going on.

i also had round ligament pains very early, although mine weren't as painful as yours. it always helped for me to move slowly (especially when standing up from a sitting or squatting position), and keep my abdominal muscles contracted. you can also talk to your doctor about using a heating pad for short periods. good luck to you!
