Ew, no! Ground hogs are not meant for consumption. They're a larger version of a mole or a gopher and those are just garden pests. Ground Hog's Day coincides with Arbor Day, which a great day to plant a tree. For the most part, it just a fun ceremony (done in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania) to watch on television, where Punxsutawney Phil is pulled from a tree stump and is asked to judge whether there will be six more weeks of winter.

I know the beer barrel polka is played but I thought it started...
You say we're young and we don't know, we'll find out before we grow...

"I got you, babe."

EDIT:
"For Connors, Groundhog Day begins each morning with his waking up to the same song, Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe", on his alarm clock radio, but with his (and only his) memories of the "previous" day intact, trapped in a seemingly endless "time loop" to repeat the same day in the same small town." (from Wikipedia site below confirming my thought) :)

I'm pretty sure they were playing The Pennsylvania Polka. Never seen it on Napster or Rhapsody or iTunes, but of course I was never looking for it either...
