It's not hard if you have all the right tools. You are going to have to have it aligned after it is changed, though, so why not just let the front end shop put it on before they align it, and you won't have to buy tools you won't ever need again. You would be money ahead to let someone else do it.

If you still feel you should do it yourself, get yourself a Chilton's or Haynes manual for your car. They are available at most parts stores, and are only about $10. It will walk you through the procedure, step by step. It will also help in the future with any other repairs you want to tackle.

It's a steering component above the splash pan in the engine compartment.
It takes special tools to remove /install.

IT IS NOT THAT HARD YOU JUST HAVE TO DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO BUY A PICKLE FORK AND HEAVY HAMMER TO TAKE IT OFF USUALLY ON PASSENGER SIDE HOOKED UP TO THE STEERING LINKAGE
