I did a disk clean-up and a defrag. I would like to see it run a little better. It has 512M of RAM. I don't know how to clean up the programs that might be running at Startup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Click start, go to run, type in-msconfig-then open the startup tab, and uncheck any program that you do not want to start, when you turn your computer on..If you are not sure what it does, put the name in the google search engine..Do not uncheck any of your security programs...good luck..

You should clear your history and your temporary Internet files. You should check the minimum and recommended specifications for running Windows 2000. It sounds to me like your computer is a little low on RAM or computer memory. Adding RAM will cause it to run faster.

To see what programs are running at start up, go to the main menu, run, type in msconfig and then click on the start up tab. That will show you what is loading at start up. Any that you don't want, uncheck and then when you close out of there it will prompt you to restart your computer.
