Your son may have thyroid problems. Does anyone else in your family have a history of it? Your son may have to be treated by providing thyroid hormone in the form of a pill. My mother has thyroid problems and this what they do for her. The medicine wont stop the size of the thyroid but it will prevent it from getting bigger.

Have you actually tried the prescribed medical remedies? I can understand wanting to try alternative therapies, but you really should give the medical remedies a chance to work. And if those fail, talk to your son's doctor before trying something else. You never know when something might aggravate a problem rather than make it better.
