How did the Blue Angles get their name?

I heard it was not from the fact that the planes are blue,or the sky is blue.I heard they got it from the name of a New York night club that Marliena Detricht(I know the spelling is wrong) use to sing in.

Their orginal name was Navy Flight Exhibition Team. During a trip to New York, Lt. Wickendoll came across an advertisement in The New Yorker for the city's popular "Blue Angel" nightclub. Voris liked the name and on July 19 officially made it the team's moniker.
