Yes that sounds like labor to me, if there comming and going and there lasting between 15 - 20 seconds they are diffently contractions, and it wouldn't hurt to go to the hospital and get checked in cause if the midwife says the head is at the brim that means you are pretty much dialated and it's getting ready to come, I'm surprised that she didn't send you right after your appointment, but if the pain in lasting 15-20 seconds then you really need to get there soon.

Very likely, ring the hospital, describe the feelings, (good idea to time them very accurately first) and ask them for advice. Depends on how far away you are from your maternity unit. Or if you're having a home birth then call your midwife with the same info. Good luck, hope all goes well.

They are probably Braxton Hicks at the moment as they are so far apart but you can get these days before you actually go into labour. If you are desperate to get things moving then the best thing (as recommended by my best friend) is to have the biggest and best orgasm you can manage! That will cause the uterus to contract and it may make it contract more regularly afterwards. If it has no effect then you are probably not in labour

hope it helps!!!

Do the opposite of what you've been doing for the last couple of hours - if you've been up and active, go lie down for an hour or two, and if you've been taking it easy, try to walk about or stay on your feet for an hour.

If the sensations are due to Braxton Hicks, they'll die away, if they're labour contractions, they'll be coming no matter what you do!

Best of luck, any time now!

Yes it could be early labor. Just keep a track of it, and monitor how far apart those cramps are. When they get closer together like 5-10 minutes apart is when I would call your doctor and get to the hospital. Good luck!

Yes, most likely you are in labor. Call your OB/GYN. Let them know whats going on. Most likely they will tell you to keep track of your contractions and when they start coming about 10-15 minutes apart, or your water breaks, go to the hospital. Congratulations and Good Luck! Happy Pushing!

Sounds like early labor to me, you should call and keep your midwife updated with what's going on.
Good luck, and congrats! Enjoy your baby!

woohoo honey - that is exactly what labour contractions feel like - strong period pains, which are actually contractions in themselves!! If you have any sort of bloody show or the contractions get closer together (say 5 minutes) it's time to book yourself in!! Good luck!!

Contractions are like cramps that take your breath away. If you have trouble talking while they are happen, then it is a contraction.

Good luck with the new baby/!
