What the hell have they done to earn your respect? They play pretend for a living.. Now that's someone I want to have as a role model.. That's someone who I will shape my beliefs around - someone who plays pretend for a living... Takes a REAL education to do that!

What places them in a higher political regard than true professionals on any issue? You libs are so silly....

Liberals think celebrities can reach more people with their influence. A lot of people "look up" to celebrities because they are visible. They are like the U.S version of royalty.

They don't necessarily have any more political insights than anyone else. In my opinion they are only entertainment. Because we have freedom of speech, they can say anything they want to. But it doesn't make them any more right than anyone else.

Silly people are those you make generalizations and think one size fits all. Based upon her real activities in Asia and Africa, do you think you know more about the needs of the children of the world than Angelina Jolie? She's probably not the best example, because she does not seem prone to make political statements. Your basic assumption is flawed. Liberals do NOT listen to actors "as mouthpieces." Liberals do not have the power to stop actors from making political statements, but that does mean mean I respect anything because it comes from the mouth of Sean Penn, for example. So, where's your proof that liberals listen to actors who make political statements?

Nothing places them in a higher political regard than other professionals. Why did you assume that "libs" do so?

I actually enjoy the actors voicing their opinions. With few exceptions; when not reading off of a script they have a tendency to sound moronic. They are doing good works for the Republicans by running their mouths.

Just ask President Gore and President Kerry how effective the endorsement of Sean Penn and P Diddy.

P.S. I live down the street from Toby Keith; he is a Democrat, he has just not adopted treason as a party platform like many of his Brethren.

"Team America: World Police" tackled this issue perfectly.

Some actors I respect, most I don't, politically.

For example, I really respect Michael J. Fox.

Sean Penn has totally gone off the deep end.

But, actors are like advertisements, if you stop paying attention to them, they'll go away.

Because they figure no one will listen to what they have to say; so they con the actors into speaking for them because they're more popular. :>) Unless that actor has done something in defense and to promote freedom in the US, I wouldn't listen to them at all. In fact, I totally ignore them and listen to the facts on C-SPAN (actual senate hearings as they progress)

Yeah...libs are silly.

Funny I could have sworn former actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is a Republican as was former actor Ronald Reagan. Talk about loving ACTORS as mouthpieces.

I would hazard a guess that they like actors, because they are high profile, people are interested in em, and they will listen to what they have to say. People in general love actors. (if they didnt there wouldnt be actors.. as there would be no money in it Kapish?) Conservatives love and use actors too in the same exact manner..

We like them because they get attention. The media loves to report on them and thus our message gets out.

However, that does not mean we place them in a higher political regard.

Its a trick they learned from Scientology. Celebrities lend an aura of credence to those who are on the edge of making a decision.

The libs know celebrities won't convert people to support them. But it could help sway the people on the fence who don't bother to educate themselves about the issues but prefer to have someone tell them what to do.
