You want to give your dragon a balanced diet. I would say 80 percent insects to 20 percent vegetables and fruits. I give mine 5 crickets a day. I keep his food dish full of dragon pellets and some leafy greens. On occasion I will give him some fruit like this stuff called tuna. Don't forget to dust the food with calcium for strong bones.

depends on the size of ur beardies if feedin crickets then u must dust them first with calcium powder.i find best is a mixed diet of live food and fruit an veg.mine love bananas!! if u worried about how many crickets to feed then pop in about 4 and leave for 10 mins if any still left then take them out as they bite,if all gone then try offerin some more or give some carrots etc

Silk worms are the best. A nice high protien bug. You can often find them canned at pet stores. Live would be better of course. Crickets are good (dont forget to gutload them). The occational king worm, wax worm etc for a treat would be nice. A wide variety of greens is always a good idea.

Plant food sources
Plant matter should make up approximately 20% of your Dragon's diet and should consist mainly of green leafy vegetables. You may also include other vegetables. Fruit should make up the smallest portion of the diet. Shred or tear vegetables and fruits into small pieces and mix them together to encourage your Dragon to eat all that is offered, and not just pick out his favorite foods. Following is a list of some popular plant-based Dragon foods.
escarole
kale
collards
bok choy
Swiss chard
parsley
clover
alfalfa pellets
dandelion greens
turnip greens
mustard greens
beet greens-only occasionally
spinach-only occasionally
NEVER iceberg lettuce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
broccoli
okra
peas
green beans
zucchini
squash
grated carrots
sweet potato
bell pepper
frozen mixed vegetables
figs
kiwi
papaya
melon
apple
grapes
dates
peaches
apricots
strawberries
plums
tomatoes
bananas (with skin)

Your Bearded Dragon is an omnivore, meaning that he desires a balanced nutrition plan of meat and vegetable remember. A hatchling dragon will consume customarily small bugs. As your dragon grows, he will start to consume extra vegetable remember. The nutrition plan of a juvenile dragon (2-4 months of age) will encompass approximately eighty% bugs and 20% vegetables. youthful dragons might desire to be fed 2-thrice daily. If inadequate nutrition is fed, youthful dragons might nip on the tails and feet of their cage friends

Google Bearded dragon care sheet. Babies need crickets everyday (small ones) and veggies. My adult Beardies eat Dark leafy greens (no spinach though..it's bad for them), thawed peas, bell peppers, squash and in the summer, they love dandelion flowers.

i think it would be better to get him on the store bought food! but theres two sides to that option, good is you buy a bottle and it last a while, not having to worry about getting and keepin live crickets, and the most imporant it has everything the dragon needs vitamins and all....now the bad not as cheap as crickets or fruits, not as cool to watch eat, and usally there are feed crickets and fruit at the pet store so its hard to get him/her on the store bought.but its up to you..hope i could help
