why not they took from you! and ever since the con servatives took congress 12 years ago the oil companies created a monopoly by the large companies buying the small ones the biggest was Exxon buying Mobil!

I am surprised about it. However, I think a better idea would be to realize that oil is a necessity for our way of life and therefore may not belong in the free market. Perhaps a better solution would be to create an oil company whose profits are returned to the consumer in the form of lower prices (a consumer-owned oil cooperative) and let that company compete with "big oil". Big oil would have to make changes or take huge losses of revenue. Another important goal is to become energy independent as soon as possible and really push the development of alternative sources of power. Hillary is just saying what she thinks will appeal to the masses. I doubt she is serious.

Well Hillary knows that one day, when Iraq Oil is given to us as payment to pay us back for the war, the cupboard is going to be full.. You didn't think she was running for President without something in it for her did you??..
No one runs for President if there isen't going to be money in the system, when they are in office..
And she is trying to block all the big oil companies now, so that when the profits run through wall street, no one else can get them..

The research has already been done and we have ways to produce energy to lower our dependacy on oil, but for some reason it is getting knocked off the table by the who ever's.. Considering teh deliberate policies te oil companies have carried out that they know are against the best interests of tis country--and the fact that they get most of their profits through market manipulation-it could be considered a way to collect damages-or a penalty for treason.
And if the oil companies go broke we'll be better off.

Listen, dude, Exxon just announced a record $39.5 billion in profits for last year. That is just after the record profits they took the year before. Do you really have that short of a memory that you cannot remember paying $3 per gallon for gasoline?
The fat guys in their black suits that run these oil companies are raping us and we are just laying there with a smile on our collective faces.
The gov can't just take whatever they damn well please without a fight, but there should be some kind of windfall tax that goes back into R&D to wean us all from the bastards.

Exxon made the biggest profit of any company in the HISTORY OF MANKIND last year. I think they will be alright with losing some of their profits. I'm pretty sure the only reason you dislike this idea is because Hillary proposed it.

Something need to be done with the high price of gas, when gas companies have been making record profits every quarter.....something is wrong.
