Because this planet supplies us oxygen and all our needs. The point of being here was based at our birth and the unknown and unseen creator that gave you and I life to decide what we would do with it. I work to survive. I live in a city but will retire by the sea. Find who you are and do you love yourself after that it is easy to live, if you love what you do and find what you are good at because it will be lonely and hard to die. Breathe inspires and keeps us alive believe me I know and have seen good and evil moments on Earth but the best is the way children play, birds singing, the smell of flowers we do not take time to smell. Live and forget what is the enevitable death.

This is a variation on the question, "What is the meaning (purpose) of life?" It is asked repeatedly, so must be an important quest for people. Based on your questions, I would presume you are bored with what you do in life. I have asked this question many times; it is only recently that I have found what is a good answer for me.
You apparently need someone to give meaning to your existence. The goal of everyone and all societies is to find this meaning! Religions are invented to give people who cant find meaning in relations with other humans a person to validate them. Atheists, I think, are more succesful in finding a meaning from others so what is the meaning they find?
It is to get your proof that you matter in this universe from your relations with others with like doubts and questions. But that is what people with religion do isn't it? They associate into congregations who are of like persuasions and look askance at all who are different. So what is the thing that binds these two very opposite groups into a whole. It is the give and take in human relations of love!
So I have concluded that the purpose of life is the ongoing quest for proof that our existence matters to someone so as to validate our lives. THAT PROOF IS GIVEN BY THE GIVE AND TAKE (EXCHANGE) OF WORDS OF LOVE! This exchange is like the exchange of photons of light (electro-magnetic energy) to generate the force of attraction that binds atoms together. Love binds people together.
I do not work; I'm retired but I stay up late on the computer. Peace and love!

While it is up to each of us to choose what to do with our life, it would be a mistake to exclude the Creator from our deliberations. Actually real meaning and purpose in life is bound up in a relationship with God. The vital connection between God and our purpose in life is highlighted in God’s personal name, Jehovah, which literally means, “He Causes to Become.” (Exodus 6:3; Psalm 83:18) That is, he progressively fulfills whatever he promises and always accomplishes what he has set out to do. (Exodus 3:14; Isaiah 55:10, 11) Think about that. The name Jehovah is a pledge to all of us that he is the ultimate and enduring Source of meaningful purpose.
