MEET LOTS OF YOUNG MEN AND DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH THEM. I think you should do what you like and makes you happy. if you like working with thugs and crazy people then do it. This would be a chance to travel on the job and see places. Can you be my Parole officer?

Parole officer is a good job and in many ways more important and better than police officer. P.O.'s require at least a bachelor's degree and they tend have a high pay scale than police officers. They work with violent criminals and can have the satisfaction of taking bad guys off the streets. For alternative and progressive sentencing to work, parole officers have to enforce those who violate the rules of their parole to keep them from victimizing society. Pay is usually better, mostly day time hours, cleaner job than many others.

You would be overworked, underpaid, drive at least 4-5 counties, have around 300 files to keep up, unlimited paper-work, on call 24/7/365, etc......Yeah, I'd want that job alright!!!!!

Only you can determine that. It wouldn't be a good fit for me, but it might be right up your alley. Only you know what your talents and limitations are.
