Stakeholders are anyone who has a vested interest in a project or company. It is often used in the context of Project Management and 6 Sigma organizational/management techniques. For example, if you're building a new headquarters, who are the people who will be effected by it? Employees, management, janitorial servicers, neighboring businesses or homeowners, phone company (installers), etc. All of these people/entities are stakeholders.
