Chances are that the story of Atlantis was a morality tale about a civilization which couldn't live in harmony with it's neighbors or the planet, and ended up getting destroyed. As I look around at what modern technology is doing and can do to this world, and the ways in which the Earth can respond, I wouldn't be surprised if we discovered Atlantis in the near future.

Platon mentioned it in his writings It was a huge city on an island with incredible interlocking circle-streets and canals. It's navy was legendary and the atlantians' knowledge too.
There are a few possibilities:
1. Cuba
2. Ruins under the sea in the Atlantic-ocean, west from Spain
3. Ruins under the sea in the Atlantic-ocean, east from Brazil
4. Malta
5. The island destroyed by a vulcano long ago between Italy and Greece.
There is no true evidence yet, at least nothing that matches with Platon's description. Some says that the Atlantians were the Phonecians or they were aliens etc. But this is much more fantasy than science.

Some people once thought it was Cuba, but a better guess is an island of Greece- I forgot which one. It's more realistic that it would be in that part of the world.
People on tv seem to be searching for this a lot, but in my opinion, it's not real.

According to Edgar Cayce part of it was supposed to rise several years ago. Maybe it just wasn't above sea level yet. Not everything he had said has become true but many things have surprised people. I wonder when they're going to do a movie documentary about him. Maybe we should check his predictions on that also? Michael Tsarion has some interesting things to say about Atlantis.
