Yes! I am running a pc and my husbands pc on the same broadband modem right now! You need a router and network cards if you want to run them as a network and a network capable dos. You can also run them on a usb but you won't have the network between the computers. Some companies charge an extra fee for 2 computers but mine doesn't.

Yep. depending on your hardware you might not even have to buy much equipment, ignore the usb connector on your modem if it has one though, they're crap. is your modem built into a router? (how many ethernet sockets you got? - on your modem and your pc?
you may be able, to link your second pc through the first... once you've exhausted all these options, go to microdirect.com to price up a new router if you have to...

U cant connect them both to the modem... here's the fastest and cheapest way to network....
get yourself an ethernet switch and a couple of ethernet cables...
connect both your PC's to the ethernet switch ...
connect your modem to one of the PC's and configure windows for internet connection sharing...
And.. make sure at least one of your computers have two ethernet ports.. so that you can connect your modem too along with the switch, if your modem uses ethernet to connect .. or try connecting the modem using USB....

You can, but you will need to buy a router and hook the modem to it and then the computers to the router. The router will split the connection across both computers.
