She is probably the most powerful woman in the world, especially if you only include those in a media role. There are women in other important jobs like Condoleeza Rice but nobody can match Oprah for sheer sway held over the American people and the world.

Well, she is powerful, and she does do a great deal of good, but she always makes sure she gets the public accolade for what she has done. Oprah did it. Oprah said so. Oprah, Oprah, Oprah.
If she had true charity in her heart, she would do her "good deeds" outside the media spotlight, like so many other celebrities have done. They don't do their good works for the glory. They do them because they have the resources, and it is the right thing to do.

Sorry,...used to think so, don't any more. Like all the other talk show hosts, she is only truly interested in a very few things. Male bashing in the highest degree, stirring up controversy to increase her exposure and income, and pushing books( for a substantial fee ) that no one would otherwise read. I say all of this, as I used to watch religiously, but as a white single father of two girls, making well below the poverty level income, though I could easily relate to many of the issues addressed on her show, and I called in often, my perspective didn't fit into her tiny little world.

Oprah thinks she is God. I admit that she is a wonderful example of someone that rose above their background, however I do not agree with her words or actions in the past few years.

that is a wierd way of asking the question. but oprah is not powerful, i mean yeah see has a lot of money but thats about it. If she was to ask the president to stop the war he wouldnt so I dont think she is powerful and if she was she is not doing anything with her power so she is nothing but a rich person to me.

I disagree with your statement and with how you used that word. I also don't think that Oprah is that important or powerful. It's people who are looking for a charismatic person as a role model or as anesthetic for the grind of their daily lives who tens to idolize TV persionalilties. One would do better studying yoga or reading the Bible, instead of watching TV.

i really think that OPRAH is a good woman who wanna help the other peaple. at least, she use her money to hetp not to hill or to hurt peaple and take their lives away.
this wonderful woman made many families in this world leave in hapiness and peace.
i think she absolutly a tresure for the humanity.
besides, i think that you can't presuate this woman for the reset of your life because you don't think right at all.

Oprah could do with being slapped about a bit like she was in the colour purple, that would bring her back down a peg or two, stupid, fat rich celebrity.
