I have an envelope with an official US Mail print with the words "first day of issue" And a round ink stamp with "pear city, HI JUL 1 AM 1971 96782" The stamp is blue on the outside with the US mail eagle and gold writing with United states postal service on it with 9 gold stars. 8 Cents underneath. How can I find the rarety?

It isn't terribly rare, but it is interesting. That particular stamp commemorated the transition from the US Post Office to the US Postal Service and first day covers were sold at all post offices. It is worth perhaps $1.

Yes! This is actually the first day the stamp was issued, and that cover you have, may be worth money!

Although the stamp you mentioned, doesn't seem to have much value to collectors, a FDC will be more value.

Hold on to it, and don't discard it. You can put it on ebay or sell it to dealers.
