Yes. When a larger capacity (1-2 gig) flash drive gets full it becomes so heavy that you need a forklift to transport it.

Technically, there is a change in weight. Data is stored in flash in the form of trapped electrons. The device that it is plugged into when data was being written will either drain or store electrons at specific locations on the semiconductor when new data is written. So for example, a document that is basically represented by all 1's (or on-bits) will have charge stored on all the sites where as a document that is all 0's charge removed from all the sites. Electrons do have a weight. It's just so small that you can't measure them in any conventional way. So no, you can't feel any difference. However, there is technically a change in weight.

I suppose it would gain weight, technically. The data is stored on a chip and is regulated by electrons (which to technically have some weight). It will never gain enough weight for you to notice though.

No. Whoever told you that was pulling your leg.

When you put stuff on a flash drive, all that happens (physically) is a bunch of electrons getting rearranged. There won't be any change in how much the drive weighs.

depends on you, the way you put documents. if you put documents on it digitally. it won't gain weight. But say you put some doucments on top of you flah drive it may gain weight. any way a good quesion dude i like ya sese of humor

Not at all. data storage is simply Magnetic charges on a flash drive or hard disk

LMAO,

This is a joke question, right! Does your hard drive get heavier when you load a new application? If you are serious, NO!

Ron LOL

No way dude... It is just memory device which can record stuff.. and not "put in stuff" ...
It is written/erased electrically .. so only the memory content changes...
Just imagine .. Does your brain get heavier by learning too much ???? .. its that sme way with recording devices :)....

No Not at all, files are softwares not hardware, which is in magnatic form and had not weight.

just like calculater is not heavy when calculating large numbers

That depends on how heavy the subject matter is.
