I have been trying to get the gas company to turn on the gas since Monday Jan 28. The gas hadn't been turned on to this place for 6 months. So the gas company which has head quarters in Louisianna. who knows nothing about a ice storm.
Said, "We cannot turn on the gas with out a city inspector."
So called the City hall and they said, "never heard of that? We don't do inspections. Never have. The Gas company inspects it when he comes out and turns the gas on."
So called back the Centerpoint Gas Company and they said, "Yes they do and they have to do it before we will turn on the gas." Thought they wanted a bribe. No that didn't work.
So I told him what the McAlester City hall said, " he said, "I'll find out and shuffled some papers and said, no we talked to them and they have city inspectors." This has been going on all week every day and I am still at square one.
So anyone out there can help me how do I get the gas turned on before I freeze to death?

Thank you I am going to see and attorney and show how ridiculous the situation is here. I was told that is why when gas is cheeper you see so many all electric homes. The gas company was bought out by a company in Louisianna and it is almost impossible to even get.

Oh good lord, what a ridiculous situation. I don't have much for you but this is the only thing I could suggest. Get them on a 3 way call together and get it straightened out. If they won't do this (the 3 way call) then I would call the gas company and tell them that unless they get their *** out there ASAP you are going to see an attorney, and that you are going to sue for refusing you service.
And if they don't, then I would contact an attorney.
They are denying you service and they can't do that.
