yup... by most people's standards I'm a geek (even my parents (lovingly) tell me so)... I wear glasses... am sports-challenged, good at my studies... don't club, have never had a boyfriend or been kissed (I'm 23)... and just never fitted into the "cool" mould... but I think I'm attractive, intelligent, funny and interesting... I have a "cool" hobby though ... I've belly-danced for 5 years, and am good at it... I suppose that geekiness is in the eye of the beholder... so all you geeks out there... embrace your geekness... it means that you were strong enough to stay yourself in the face of peer pressure... and in case you didn't realise "Geeks Rule The World"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

**** yes im a geek, well no im a neek (nerd/geek mix).

i spend all my time on the computer or playing videogames
i watch some anime
i play D&D (have since i was little)
used to play MGT
listen to techno
think Rachel Ray is hot (from the food network)
listen to metal (believe me most metalheads are nerds and the ones that claim to be hardcore are losers)
i build electronics
i only read sci-fi fantasy some horror and epic fantasy books
the videogames i do play are RPG's and RTS's (role playing games and real time stratagies)
i have a level 88 barbarian that uses EBOTDTM and fort sacred on D2LOD
im a shaman in a clan on WC3 RoC
and i have silkroad online on my computer but i havnt played it much latley

my views on nerds and geeks is that they rule but some people are too geeky and need to be hit very hard very fast and quite a few times with something very rigid such as a club

those kind of people are anyone over the age of 11 that plays with or watches yugiho. people who think that FFX was a good game and FFXI isnt a sin (for ***** sake it was an MMORPG thats breaking the ******* rules). and the people who eat sleep live and breathe anime (also people who look at hentai all the time too)

I am called a geek all the time because I am very interested in technology and video games. I can take apart a computer and put it back together and have hacked into my DS so I can download games onto it. That's just a few geek things from me.

PS Geeks are HOT!

Yes, I'm a geek (or a nerd, or whatever you want to classify me as).

Why I am I a geek? Well, let's look at the stereotypes and see how many I fit...

I am intelligent (IQ roughly 140-145 range...borderline genius).
I like computers (and know how to work on them too).
I like science fiction (but have never dressed up like a Star Wars or Star Trek character).
I could care less about the current styles or fashion trends (I dress how I like, not how someone says I should).
My favorite game is Magic:The Gathering (lets me be creative).
I like old 70's "progressive" rock (hip hop/rap, with their repetitive beat, bores me).
I've worn long sideburns since 1975 (yes, I know Elvis is dead).
Know how to play chess (but don't play it well at all).
Was never "popular" with women (except as their "safe" friend)

On the other hand:
I'm married and have kids (so yes, I've kissed a girl, had sex, and don't live in my parents basement)
Love sports (was never very athletic, but still loved to play)

So that probably scores me about 80% geek. But frankly, most people that are classified as geeks are simply people who are self-confident and don't believe they have to follow the crowd. They march to their own beat, even if it's a different one than the majority.

I am probably considered a geek, but I personally don't think that I am one. I wear glasses, I enjoy school, I can memorize easily, I love to read and other things that are considered "geeky"... so yeah I guess if that is any definition of a geek than I am one.

I don't consider myself a geek, but I know that I'm an intelligent person by using common sense in my life! Also, I don't care what anyone else thinks of me!

I'd say I'm more of a nerd. I do goofy things with complete disregard for how others may perceive my actions. But geek works too.

I like listening to Helen Reddy and the Carpenters.

I majored in Mathematics in college.

I am an attorney who practices Patent Law, and very rarely do I step into a court room.

I like reading scientific journals and treatises.

I wear glasses.

I wear jeans and Docker shirts.

I don't have a girlfriend, and I have not had sex in close to four years.

Geeks and nerds walk to the beat of a different drummer. In general, we are comfortable with who we are, there is no superficiality about us (i.e., what you see is what you get), our minds operate at a completely different plane of existence so that we are totally unconscious of ourselves (the oppostie of being self conscious), which is why we often appear as being socially inept -- and in many cases we are.

'geeks' are just clever people. And for some reason the world can't accept clever people...
