Get a punchbag and go for long walks. Exercise produces endorphins which counteract stress and depression-and frustration. Keeps one busy too.

Hello.. I can sympathize with you. One thing I will tell you is Doctors, especially therapists, are very busy. When they have time to call you it is usually a limited time slot. If your phone rings but you can't get to the phone so you have to call him/her back, you are back on their time schedule again... visiting their patients. If you call and tell the receptionist that you have an emergency and need to talk to the Doctor NOW, which sounds like your situation, the Doctor SHOULD be able to talk to you no matter if they are in session or not. My doctors will do that. BUT, if you are just frustrated because you want to talk to your Doc. NOW and can't wait because of a compulsion... I understand your difficulty, but you have to just tell yourself that they are busy and they WILL call you when they can. Continue to do what you would normally do throughout the day... if you don't have a cell phone and can't leave the house because you are waiting for this call... do some chores at home.. organize your files, read, look up information on the Internet, but don't wallow over it because all it will do is drive you crazy and you will feel anxious. I know... I've been there... especially when I WANT to know an answer to a question... on that is not an emergency. Hope this helps!

It is hard to do, isn't it? Try meditation, seriously. I used to have a high level of frustration causing me high blood pressure and the need for meds. Meditation helps clear your mind, also realize that nothing is permanent, including frustration, things will turn around. When you feel frustration starting, try to remove yourself (if only for a few minutes) from the situation and take some deep breaths.

People have different ways like either self-discipline or doing some sort of activity to get their minds off the frustration. Me, I write poems, or talk to my close friends to have comfort, and some times, well mostly listen to music, because I am a music lover. I turn to the things I love most, makes me feel a lot better. Also, my picture of my cat that past Boo Boo(R.I.P).

If it's frustration over a singular event, I'd deal with it and move on. If it's general frustration and stress just by living day to day, I'd schedule a weekly massage. Also, make sure you're having sex and/or masturbating.

when ever I feel frustrated I take slow deep breathes and I visualize the tension in my body being pushed out with each breathe while I inhale calm and pull it down to my toes to push the bad out more. I have done this in public and it gets no notice. You do this standing, not sitting or leaning against a wall.

It all depends on the kind of frustration.. but I find the hand is a useful resource. think about it. Hitting out, squashing stress ball, movement of the shaft ahem! picking up the phone to shout at someone, lack of intellectual matter, pick up paper - ok ok i'm waffling

I think the only to deal with it is to vent it out.
Try tearing paper into bits... works for some.
Sometimes crying also helps....
My personal favourite is taking one long stick and hitting the bed, so my bed and head get rid of the accumulated dust !

Try this simple, seemingly stupid, but incredibly effective method
Place the thumb and middle finger lightly around your other wrist until they are touching. Then say out loud, slowly, "Calm, calm, calm"
Yes, I know it looks ridiculous, but it really does work. I use it when stuck in traffic jams. It also works if you just think the words, but it is better if you say them out loud

Identify the cause, make out a list of things you can do to sort it, or if it's something outside of your control, find an outlet, something positive to use all that energy.
