The Coil is a term used for the old fashioned metal womb implant which they don't like to use these days. Nowadays they use what is called an IUS (intra uterine system) which is the Mirena and uses the same hormones as the mini pill (progesterone only). Most birth control is hormonal - the combined pill (both hormones), the Implanon implant (Progesterone), Depo Provera Injection (progesterone) and the mini pill (progesterone). If you are determined you don't want any hormones in your body then condoms /femidoms or the cap http://www.femcap.com/latest_news.htm are really your only choices (other than sterilisation).
