How could any average Joe Blow determine when an aged baseball was signed by Joe Torre? If he signed it with a ball point pen with flat black ink,he could have signed it two minutes ago, and an unscrupulous dealer could claim he signed it back in '61.

I am not sure the year it was signed is a precursor to the price you would get unless it was documented in a way other than by the sellers word. Even then I am not sure if it would matter in the price.
I did a google search and came up with prices on autographed balls and this is what I got.
$225.00 from http://www.prosportsmemorabilia.com
$250.00 from
http://www.steinersports.com
$194.00 from
http://ebay.com
Go to any search engine and copy & paste this: Joe Torre autographed baseball
That will get you some results you can research.

Low minor league rosters are as volatile as a high school team -- the turnover is tremendous and teaching the sport can trump victories.

Authenticity is always an issue w a ball having any significant value. You should have it authenticated by a professional to get top dollar.
