depends on how you use it in a sentence. But basically "world" is used to describe in the spiritual sense the domain of Satan. Heaven is God's domain. The Earth is not the world. The Earth is used in a physical sense.

The area in which we move, act, live and exist.
Maybe your school and your town are your world. They are everything you know, everybody you ever talked to lives there.
Maybe you've lived in many cities across the country, leaving friends and acquantances on each one. That's your world then.
For your cat, your entire house, plus a dim memory of the street where he was born, is the entire world. He doesn't know more than that.
The world is the area in which everything you know exists.
It may be large as the universe, large as your country, as your town, or as a single room.
The world is all that you know.
