Sakura- i know shes a cry baby but in the manga after the 2 half year time skip she gets FRICKEN STRONG because she has super human strenght like tsunade and knows medical jutsu- spoiler sorry for (sp)=spelling

Gaara, because he's the exact opposite of Sasuke. he starts as a lone bitchy, whiny little ****** and turns into a decent guy after meeting naruto. Sasuke betrayed his whole family and village for the sake of power, and he's too damn emo. so if gaara's not the best, then my vote is anyone except for sasuke

Shikamaru because he was the only one to become Chunnin, he was the leader of the plan to stop Sasuke when he was after Gaara and he the smartest person ever!!

SASUKE! i know he leaves, but hey, how would you feel if your whole family/clan got killed by your own brother? yeah, and he is well drawn and has a good fighting style. kakashi and naruto tie as second. third is gaara.

Neji Hyuuga. He learned most of his techniques thru sheer determination. He has this desire to break out from the fate that what given to him by his ancestor. plus he has pretty good moves as well.

i liked sasuke. i felt bad for him b/c his own brother killed his family; then he chose revenge over his friends. i cant really decide also b/c i like sakura very much as well. she can heal people w/ her chakra and has super strength. also i think that she and sasuke make a great couple. 8'(
