Neither. "THE moon"... to mean Earth's moon???... IS a moon. A star is a body that is large enough to begin to fuse (as in nuclear fusion) its mass. Stars can co orbit each other and often do. Most stars have an orbit in a galaxy of stars. Planets, which are not fusing bodies, mostly orbit stars because they are the garbage left after the process of star formation. Moons orbit planets. At least that's the SIMPLE explanation.

A star is a giant ball of plasma, and a planet is an object that orbits around a star. The moon is neither; it is a satellite. Many planets have satellites (moons), some even more than one.

Its neither. It is a moon. A moon is something that orbits around an official planet, so to answer your question, a moon is a moon.

A Moon is neither a start nor planet, it is infact a sattelite that has been cought in the orbit of a planet, in this case, earth

It's neither. It's not big enough to be a planet (plus it orbits the earth), and it's not a star (it doesn't give off light).

Our Moon is just that, a moon.

It is neither a planet or a star.

Our moon is The Moon, all the others are just moons with other proper names. But they are all satellites around their primaries.

the moon is considered a satellite because it orbits earth and is smaller. if it was a star we would be in big trouble because we burn up in the highly intense heat. and if it were a planet it would crash into earth and break it into millions of peices.

well, moon doesnt revolve around the sun,so no question of its being planet
moreso,Doesnt produce the energy and light,so not star too. But it does revolve around the earth=> so its a sattelite(natural) just like many other man-made sattelites launched into space which also revolve around the earth
