I think that it wouldn't look bad, as long as you can stand cold feet, and if they were nice strappy shoes.

You can wear those, sure. I would suggest you have your date drop you at the door where ever you go. I would also suggest you bring a bag with a second pair of shoes just in case.

yes, might have cold tootsies, but strappy (HIGH HEEL) sandles aregreat with any formal.
