My 19 year old has normal cycles, but gets extremely tired and unable to focus each month. She complains of what she describes as stomach pain, but I believe it is uterine cramps. What do you all take or do to alleviate your symptoms?

Don't worry, most of the symptoms are perfectly normal for PMS. You should check out your bladder problem though, that can't be safe. I have never experienced backache from PMS though, so some lifting that you may have done have caused the backache, lifting before or during PMS is awful to your body. From the sign of things, I would just say that it's your PMS time.

OK , this is normal, if she has her monthly more than she should then she should see a doctor, if she is complaining about sharp pains unlike cramps then you should talk with her and a doctor
If its just Cramps then Give her some advil and a heating pad place it on her stomike and have her take a nap . If this dosent help then talk to a Doctor , i hope she gets better, i take Tylenol
and Advil and a heating pad , these should help ....

A very very hot bath works well. It will relieve the cramps for just a little bit. Also, rocking back and forth, taking diurectics (fluid pills OTC), drink hot tea, and if it doesn't work, try talking to her doctor about getting on birth control, it will definietely aleviate the pain. Good luck with it, I know it's really a pain!!!

I take Midol and supplement my diet with either a lot of iron-rich foods leading up to my period or with iron pills to help reduce painful cramps. Make sure she has a heating pad available to put on her stomach, as the heat will help with her cramps.

2 Tylenol and naps.

I get tired too, and my cramps give me even more reason to want to nap.
