I was wondering when I should start applying stretchmark cream during my pregnancy. Stretchmarks are my biggest fear! I already have previous ones on my inner thighs. Also which is the best cream to use?

They appear at different times for different women. The truth of the matter is that if you are going to get them then you are going to get them, there is no way in preventing them, i used the creams and did everything I could to keep them from coming and I got them. I mean they are not that bad but they are there and you can see them. They never got like the deep dark reddish color they were very light and still are very light some of them even disappeared. Good luck to you

I have been using Palmers Cocoa Butter Massage Lotion on my belly since before I started showing. It is the underneath layer of skin that tears first with stretch marks so there is no real way to prevent them, unless you do not gain a ton of weight. I have previous stretchmarks also but they have faded and you cant even see them anymore. I am 37 weeks and I have only gained 23 lbs and it is all in my belly and I have not one stretch mark. I have seen women go the whole time and not get them at all until they are in labor or the week before. I figured I would get them when my little man dropped but so far so good!

Oh Stretch marks!

I never got any new stretch marks being pregnant and I used cream everyday (especially after a shower when your skin is the driest). I use this cream that you can get at Walmart called "Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula - Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks" and it helps to prevent them, and to reduce ones that you already have.

My pregnancy books say that if you're going to get stretch marks they usually appear between 25-30 weeks pregnant. :)

Hope that helps!

Usually at the time you begin to stretch the most. In most cases that would be like the 7th/8th month. Honestly creams don't work really. Stretch marks are from the inside out, you can't get rid of them, with fancy creams and lotions. It will help with the itchiness of it, and be less irritated, but if you are going to get stretch marks, your going to get them. Good luck, hope they don't come for you!!!!

First of all, I hate to break it to you...if you already have a stretch mark on your body somewhere, it typically means you are going to get them. They were my biggest fear, too. Stretch marks are hereditary...if you're going to get them, you're going to get them. My first one showed up last week when I was 38 weeks after the baby dropped. I had been applying Palmer's Cocoa Butter EVERYDAY (you can get at Stop and Shop) and I also bought Tummy Honey (www.duematernity.com) that helped with the itching, too. Don't stress about it...just embrace it...it comes with the territory. You can also try Vitamin E caplets...you break them open and rub it on your skin.

I would recommend that you start using stretchmarks cream asap. It helps prevent them. I didn't use it right away and I ended up really marked. Please remember you might still get stretch marks the cream just helps reduce the amount of marks you can get.

I never could see mine until after I gave birth and they were really light and only a few..I used Palmer's stretch mark cream and started using it from about 3 months on..At least once a day!!

All women get them though..Good luck to you!!

I was super skinny when I got pregnant. I haven't gotten any stretch marks or anything. Around 20 weeks I started using Jergens Shea Butter Cream. I put it on before I put my clothes and after I take them off. It's really helped. My belly is extremely soft. Also, Shea lasts awhile.

palmers. worked for me i used it throughout my pregnancy. it helps make the skin more elastic so it is prepared for stretching and will not leave as much marks afterward. My marks (about 5 in all!!) showed up after delivery.
