Tomorrow is me and my husband's set date to stop smoking. I'm going to pick up some stop smoking patches today. Do you think there's a difference between the Nicoderm CQ patch and the much cheaper generic Equate brand patch?

No, there isn't. Check the boxes when you get there. The ingredients are exactly the same. The Equate box will say "Compare to NicoDerm CQ." They can't say that unless the ingredients are exactly the same.

by law they are supposed to be the same, i suppose the only way is to read the list of what each contains. i have heard that sometimes the generic brand is made up in some cases by the chemist shop and not as effective, but not in all items. there is a big rip off to the general public going on as the genetic brands, don't go through all the research so therefore they should not charge the same as the guys who took 10 years to get there, and yes the chemist made ones are cheaper BUT still too expensive considering everything..

Most of the time, the company that the store brand is sitting next to is the manufacturer of that product. I was told that by a manager at a Walmart store.
If you want a cheaper and quicker way to stop smoking, get your doctor to give you a prescription for Chantix. I know several people who had stopped smoking in one month while taking this.
