Not including atoms, molecules, cells, etc. I'm only talking about material.

There are no un-natural elements. The difference between natural and synthetic is that the synthetic compound is not made by nature. It's made by man's efforts. It doesn't mean that it's un-natural in a sense. All things come from the basic elements of the universe. Only the method by which they were arranged makes them defined as natural or synthetic.
If you think about it, even creating a new atom isn't really synthetic since the basic protons and neutrons and electrons are natural in nature.

Anything that you do has to be made from atoms that you will find around, so technically, anything has to be "natural". Depending on the definition of what natural means to you, your opinion may vary.
Scientists want to try an interesting experiment, using super high power lasers, hoping that huge amount of energy will create matter, in the reverse of the E=mc^2 formula. That would then be really synthetic, except for the energy, which had to come from somewhere.

Natural is anything made by nature, from plants, animals, the earth. Synthetics is when man takes elements or combinations of element to make products not usually made by nature.

"Natural" is a word with no real meaning...

Though to answer your question literally, most of the elements on the high end of the Periodic Table do not exist in nature (on Earth, anyway), but are the synthetic (and usually rather brief!) products of experiments in particle accelerators...

There are loads of completely 'synthetic' materials, but ultimatly everthing is made of something which is found in nature. The only exception is man-made elements.

The term synthetic refers to a product obtained by chemically combining (synthesizing) other compounds or elements. So yes, plastics, nylon, polyester, etc. are all products that were synthesized by chemically combining smaller hydrocarbon chains into larger ones. There are many others, both organic and non-organic.
