I'm 19 weeks pregnant and haven't had my ultrasound yet. How many of you would say that there is more of a chance that I'm having a girl? I've just "heard" from various sources that if you crave fruit, it's a baby girl.

I only have 12 days until I find out what I'm having, but that seems like centuries away. I really don't believe in old wives tales, but it's fun to hear some of them!

All I craved was fruit when I as pregnant. I would eat fruit every day. I would sit on the couch and eat half a watermelon while watching TV at night at least 4 times a week. I craved watermelon, lemons, strawberries, bananas, apples, pears, oranges...you name it (if it was a fruit) I HAD TO HAVE IT!!
I had a boy!

When I read your question I was like that is totally the exact same thing as me! I am 21 weeks pregnant. I had bad 24/7 sickness ( and still do but not as much). The only food that I wanted to eat was fruit! I couldn't stand to even think about eating meat (another weird one was i couldnt think about eating anything sweet , except for fruit). I found out the sex of my baby at 19 weeks and I am definatly having a girl!

I craved fruit and had serious meat aversion with both boys and girls. You crave what you crave no matter what the sex is. I still crave more fruits and veggies after having babies than I did before getting pregnant. Still can't stand meat and I used to be the Queen of Grill cooking steak and shrimp dinners twice a week! Not any more. icky. Gimme fruit salad!

I've got 4 boys and could NEVER stand the smell or sight of meat with 2 of my pregnancies. With my 3rd baby I craved watermellon and ate so much I would have watery stools (tmi).
I was such a vegi/fruitaterian, that I only gained 6 pounds the entire time and he was 6 pounds 4 ounces!
On the other hand, with my last son, all I ever wanted was cheeseburgers and steaks. I even got to the point that I would order a cheeseburger and throw away the bun.

I have heard that your cravings relate to what your body needs. I craved bacon and steak- the opposite of you- maybe I needed more protien, maybe you need more water or vitamin C. I haven't heard anything about cravings relating to the sex of the baby, though, and I've heard a lot of old wives tales in the past 37 weeks! By the way, I am having a boy, so draw your own conclusions...

With pregnancy number 1 I craved fruit, hated meat and had a beautiful baby boy. Now pregnant with my second son the same thing. FRUIT!!!! These things that you hear are just old wives tales. I wouldn't pay too much attention to them.

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and have been craving fruit my entire pregnancy. I'm having a boy so I'm not sure fruit cravings say much.

That's a crock. I had a ten pound boy three months ago...and all I wanted to eat was apples and orange... And I'm normally the biggest carnivor on the planet and just the sight of meat made me gag.
It has nothing to do with the sex of the baby...it's just your body craving the right nutrients that it needs.
Congratulations! :)
