Much longer life expectancy for a start. Some claim that, by 2020, the life expectacy in developped countreis will increase by more than one year for each calendar year, therefore that we could live virtually forever -- provide that we make it to that time, that is.
Then, there is the not so rosy global warming problem. Will we be able to avoid long term consequences? Will we be able to find a solution?
In the energy front, I do hope that we will be able to master nuclear fusion; this could actually solve a lot of our problems, and move us from a fossil fuel society to one that might be hydrogen based. At the same time, thermal depolymerisation might prove to be capable of producing all the oil we need from grabage (said garbage coming from agricultural wastes, therefore a sustainable process that would balance the CO2 emitted with the CO2 captured by the plants).
Then, on the cybernetic side, robots will be progressively introduced while advances in brain modelling and computer power might lead us to the creation of super machines hat are smarter than humans. At that point, we might consider all our problems as being solvable, as the super machine will figure it out better than any human can -- and if it cannot, the next machine designed by the current super-computer would.
Then, we might turn our collective eyes to the outside: space. And start exploring.
Who knows what we will find next?
But I, for one, want to be around to see it all happen.

Cheap communications and transportation are going to make poor countries who try (like India and China) much richer. Rich countries like the USA are going to have to scramble to compete in that new world or they'll get poor. And that won't be pretty.
Good book about it.
