Most colleges that offer equine studies have rodeo and stables on campus. You may want to try asking around the stables first- many of the students that board their horses work at local ranches or vet clinics. Also try your professors. If they are teaching equine studies then it's most likely they have horses themselves and know other people that do also- they may be looking for an intern or extra help.
Try going to local events- ropings, rodeos, horse events. Best way to get a job is word of mouth.

Owning a horse rescue and being a trainer to the rescue horses and other horses to make some income to support the rescue part. Money doesn't matter to me as long as I have enough to live on and keep the business going, I'm all about having a rewarding job that you love and are good at.

First I would try going to a stable near you and take some riding lessons. Ask to help take care of some horses or help around. Some stables will even have programs that you can work in. That is what I have been doing and I love it! Go on and fulfill your dream!

Most rescue places could use volunteers. As for being paid, you would have to call around to all places that have horses. This is quite a competitive market right now.

The best thing to do is check with local stables in your area. They might start you off by cleaning/feeding, but at least your there and you're experiencing. Also - hang out with the trainers and go with them to shows. My mom goes everywhere with her trainer to quarterhorse shows, even when she's not training. You pick up on a lot of stuff.

try the yellow pages for stables. Let them know your dream and that you would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do whatever they needed at the stables... i did this for when i wanted to be a vet so i worked somewhere that i could do kennel work and i was eventually able to help the vet with anything!! Just remember its not what you know, It's who you know!!

Check out your local stables and trainers. Go to feed stores, tack stores, etc. Trainers and barns are ALWAYS looking for extra help around the barn.

Also, check out your local dressage chapters, hunt clubs and breed clubs for referrals.
