I had a friend pay bills for me, using my money and now some of these are coming back to as unpaid. We do not speak anymore and she is not giving me the info I need. She did provide 1 conf# but the other one she says she has had no time to look at her statement. It has been 8-9 weeks and it is on the same statement as the other she gave me.

Not good, did you at least get her to acknowledge that she received the money? (sign something???) I think you have a problem without anything in writing.

How did your friend get the money from you to pay the bills? Cash, check or other? If other than cash, you would have some proof that you gave her the money equal to the amount of the bills.

I would inform her that unless she complies with your requests for information, you will have no other recourse but to get legal counsel, inasmuch as her action/ inaction could ruin your credit rating and reputation.

At the same time, you are legally obligated to pay the creditor monies owed, if you don't they can file a negative credit reports, as well as pursue other avenues to collect. Contact them and explain the situation, informing them that you have no intention of ignoring the debt.

You ask her to confirm and tell the truth, or you are beat if she says you did not give her the money. A signed receipt when giving out money for any purpose will hold up in the court of ethics and the law.

You are screwed. I hope it wasn't much. If you aren't on speaking terms, there isn't much you can do.
Perhaps you could leave a voice message requesting humbly the information you need. Reassure her that are not calling to argue, just to complete your business and then you will leave her alone.
Good luck

I am sorry, but I think you will have to assume those bills went unpaid, and chalk it up to experience.
