Check out the Red Onion on 59 and Kirby. They serve Latin Fusion - it is sooooo good/ I have taken many people there and everyone loves it.
Some others in the area to try
Skeeters Weslayan/Bissonett
Princes Burger - Along 59 Feeder
Miyakos - Japanese, 59/Kirby
Houstons - 59/Kirby

My favorite restaurant inside the loop in Houston would have to be Goode Company on Kirby just south of 59. Best BBQ in Houston, and that is saying something, because there are a lot of great BBQ places in town.

That's where I live.... Westheimer @ Kirby....and I spend a lot of time on Weslayan. There are restaurants everywhere... it depends on what you want to spend. A big favorite is Carraba's Italian ( Kirby @ West Alabama). Molina's Mexican is a favorite of President Bush ( #41). ( BuffaloSpeedway @ West Park. ) Ninf'a and Pappasito's are also excellent choices for Mexican, both on Kirby at West Alabama. Bennigan's is right at 59 and Kirby. I could rattle on and on... yes, I've been to all of these... but do a search for that area. You'll get many, many hits. Then you call pull up the restaurant menu online and get a feel for the prices.

For a simply wonderful breakfast or brunch try
The Daily Grind (5 star rating)
4115 Washington Ave, Houston, TX - (713)861-4558 he Daily Grind.
Breakfast, brunch and lunch made as you like it.
And, of course, the coffee is wonderful. In an old building with tall ceilings---it's unique.
