3 is a very significant number in spirituality. 3 represents the Trinity of Creation, Maintenance and Destruction. 3 represents the 3 phases of an individual's life, of growth, stability and decay.
In numerology 3 is considered to be a good number to have as a birth number.
Saying something 3 times was the final contract in earlier days. That is why Muslims have to say Talaq (Divorce) 3 times for it to take effect.
Heaven, earth and hell are the three spheres that govern most of human behavior.
Two (a man and a woman) become One (unite - sexually and emotionally) to become Three.
A person has a body, mind and spirit - 3 planes of existence.
I can give you more if interested.

Well the number three appears in many holy things, like the trinity of the father, son and holy ghost, but there is much more to it then just that: -There are three primary colors that when mixed together can make up any other color, red, yellow and blue. -There are three lines, angles and points on a triangle, which is considered, by some, to be the strongest shape. All of our societies structures are built like a triangle (or pyramid, if you would). For example, a corporation has one CEO, a few Vice-Presidents, even more Managers, and on the bottom, which makes up the largest group, are the employees. The Catholic church has the single Pope on top, followed by Arch-Bishops, Bishops, etc all the way down to the followers, which again make up the largest group. -Three has also holds a sign of power to those who practice Paganism or those who believe in sorcery. There are more significances then this, but under pressure here (lol) my mind is going blank. I do not favor one thing over another, but try to stay aware of these things as I go about my days labor. So I apologize, but I can not pick one to answer your question. I can only point out the ones I know!

3 is a wonderful number. It is stabilizing.
It takes at least 3 legs to make a table or chair stable.
It takes at least 3 people to be able to form a majority on an issue or question.
There are 3 dimensions in space (that we can perceive)
And when a couple have a child, 3 makes a family.

It means many things to many people and cultures.
Some say it is a lucky number, some say it is a perfect or ideal number because of the TRINITY of God. To Catholics three may mean Mary, Jesus and Joseph.
Some say it is stability because a triangle is a stable figure and structure.
Some say 3 is trouble especially in relationships and love unless you are into free-love and wife-swapping.
Etc, Etc. Etc

...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this, Thy hand grenade, that with it, Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits... in Thy mercy." And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu... [Whereupon the friar is urged, "skip ahead a bit, brother"]... And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbeth thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it." Amen.

All things that are especially complete and entire are stamped with the number three:
*Gods attributes are three - omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence.
*The three divisions of time - past, present and future.
*The three persons in grammar - me, myself and I.
*The sum of all human ability is threefold - thought, word and deed.
*The three kingdoms of matter - animal, vegetable or mineral.
I don't know if that's what you're looking for. You question intrigued me, so I googled it :-)
