Every girl is different. You can get your period from any age between 9-18. Usually, there are a lot of signs. Most of the time it's breast developement. But for me,it was pubic, leg and a bit of underarm hair. my breasts still havent developed and my doctor says that they will, but everyone's signs are different.
there really is no way to know for sure when you're gonna get your period.
I got mine just this October. im 12,almost 13.
you might get a practice period, which is just a really light period that lasts for less than 1 day. that usually means that you are probably going to get your period sometime that year. thats what happened for me.
i can still remember when i was 10 and i used to ask myself when i woud get my period, especially after my friend got hers in fifth grade. dont worry. have patience.
always keep a pad or tampon in your locker at school, just in case. it's kind of embarrasing to ask a teacher.even if the teacher is a female. trust me. especially if you are new to the school, and you dont really know anyone. i had to do that.

The age differs in everyone. My mom got it when she was 11, my Aunt when she was 16, I got mine when I was 13, and my Grandmother at the age of 14. There is really no telling. Just talk to your mom, or someone you trust, so you know what to expect and some of the signs like cramps. By the way Advil is the best cramp reliever.

You might want to talk about this with your mom. Or a close friend's mom if you aren't comfortable talking with your own mom. There are books on this available too. Ask your school nurse to recommend one. or talk to your gym teacher. It is a process that begins as your body matures. And it is different for every girl. Some girls menstrate as young as 9 or 10, most start between 11 and 13.

Ask your mother when she got hers. It generally tends to be around the same time. My mother said she started when she was 15, and I got mine a few months before I turned 15. Also, when you do start, it may be WICKED irregular for the first year or so.

Also, I know getting your period may seem exciting, but believe me, once you've gotten it for a while it becomes a pain in the you-know-what. Especially the cramps.

Darling, be patient. Some girls get it very early. I got mine at 10 y.o. and I was scared and excited at the same time. Please read up on the myths of having your cycle and take proper care of yourself. It is possible to come early if you stress over it. When you least expect it, that's when it will come.
