i dotn mean who wast the actor...but who was it supposed to be in the movie??

At the end just before he goes into the field in the last scene Kevin Costner replays all of the "sayings" in his head and he he turns and says very quietly "it was you".....Shoeless Joe, who is very far away and could not have heard him turns back and says "no Ray it was you".... So we know that Shoeless Joe was the "voice"

Who or what he represents is up to debate....
