not the keyfob but the receiver for it

I have a Chevy Suburban and my receiver boxes are in the doors. How do I know? Mine stopped working and the dealer wanted $1,000 to fix them! The door has to be disassembled to get to them.

Chevy Trailer?

Most cars with keyless entry the reciever is up under the dash.. Normally center and as high as possible. This shortens the antenna and gets better reception.

With a year, make and exact model (never heard of the trailer) I can give you the exact location.
