Can anyone please explain what happens to all the money spent on bidding for the olympics and all the other events. I find it staggering that the media tell us that all this money is spent just to be the winning town!

It goes into the pockets of the organisers, as "salaries", "consultation fees", "miscellaneous expenses" etc... and most people are either too naive to figure this out, or they don't care or they can't do anything about it.

Just how many people wanted us to host the Olympics? As a Londoner, I certainly did not want them to be anywhere near me.

not just that it took LA approx 10yrs to recover after hosting it so is really worth it. Manchester managed to hire most of thjeir new venues out but not all so the rest are goin to ruin. thats plenty more money wasted, all for the prestige. lookin back it doesnt answer your question

sorry just a thought you planted the seed and it sprouted into a ñoad of blah blah

When you bid for the Olympics, the process takes several years to complete & to be in with a realistic chance, you must be ultra-professional.
